Quoted on carpet area. A quote priced on built-up or super built-up area is effectively 15–25% more expensive than the same rate on carpet.
Check the area basis first — carpet, built-up or super built-up. Then the ply: 710-grade BWP for wet areas, MR-grade elsewhere, with the brand named. Then the hardware: soft-close channels and hinges from Hettich, Hafele or Ebco carry real warranties; unbranded hardware fails within three years.
Finally check exclusions. Painting, electrical rework, false ceiling and appliance provision are the four items most commonly left out of a low quote and added back later.
